Roar of Thunder Riverboat
Regatta

A Roar of Thunder Riverboat Regatta august 15th and 16th, 2009 will be run with the APR
Superleague of powerboat racing. Event will feature an awesome party for the riders on
Saturday night at lions club-- I heard many of the boat racers saying this is a good one.
This jet ski show competition will feature many awards that offer cash and prizes including;
Ohio River freestyle champion (one min routine), highest Fountain, deepest submarine, big
air and favorite rider. The event includes performance by Typhoon Tommy and Rambo
Rosie
Mike Hoffman wins 2009 freestyle title at Aurora Roar of Thunder championships with big
air moves (below right) and deep submarines. Darin Jett wins the highest fountain
championship with a huge fountain that went over 40 feet in the air above the shoreline.
Keith Barta fills ski with water, while winning the deep submarine contest. Special thanks to
Hunter Veneeman for driving over and helping us weekend, thanks for the MVP work!
Awesome to have Mac Schwab in attendance and his smooth skills and energetic personitiy
on and off the water. The day was highlight by Steve VanNacker doing his first Barrel roll
and Mike Hoffman and Elizabeth Katehos doing some doubles freestyle.
Awesome times hanging out with the APR Superleague racers and Aurora Lions club
members during our Saturday night party put on by Roar of Thunder event producer
Charlotte Hastings.
Event is APBA sanctioned event, must be APBA competitive member.. Membership available
on-site. please review our general guidelines and rules
The pit area is very good with an old boat ramp to the water and a beach like pit area on the
water. Our pit area is very close to the show area and the crowd, so it's a nice location.
Event location is at Lesko Park in Aurora, IN (map below) or Lesko Park in Ind.
